Just as the Treaty of Tordesillas (signed on 1494) that divided the newly discovered lands outside europe between Portugal and Spain along a meridian 370 leagues west of the Cape Verde islands;
the Douro region classified as world heritage place was also delimited with 201 pombaline granite pillar (stones) on 1756, then enlarged with an extra 134 to demarcate the vine growing region of Douro. This wine, is our recognition to our history –Portugal and Douro Valley -.
